There no particular standard for purity of medical oxygen, but it is ultrafultered and more than 99% pure.

Aiming to fulfill oxygen demand, many firms started developing devices that produce oxygen at home. Local people also started googling "How to make oxygen at home".

Before buying any equipment ensure these factors:

First, read detailed information about that equipment

Check if the manufacturer/Supplier authorized to sell that equipment.

Which method is used to produce the oxygen

Which material is used to produce oxygen?

Check if any toxic gas present along with oxygen

Purity and composition of oxygen

Check equipment pressure

Is it harmful to breathe pure oxygen?

We can not live without oxygen. we get oxygen from breathing in the air around us. Air contains 21% of oxygen. If we breathe pure oxygen for a long time it burns the food very quickly.

Oxygen free radicals

Pure oxygen generates free radicals, these radicals reacts with fat, proteins, lipids and DNA. Our body contains antioxidents (Vitamins etc,) which helps to maintains balance between demand and supply of oxygen. For long time, these free radicals increases so high that these antioxidents couldn't neautralise the radicals. These leads to damage of lungs and your eyes also.

So we need oxygen to help us get energy from our food. We might also need a little extra if we’re sick in hospital, or if we’re an astronaut or deep-sea diver. But too much oxygen can harm us.
